Sarah Haydock LCSW
Hello!
My name is Sarah and I am glad you are here to learn a little bit more about me!
Working with children and families is my passion and I believe that when we all work together we can collectively create positive change. From the first session, I work to cultivate a welcoming, trusting, and fun therapeutic relationship with my clients that allows us to explore what brought them to therapy in a play-based manner. Utilizing play therapy techniques, I can help your child express their feelings in a safe, supportive environment that allows for better understanding of their challenges and how we can work as a team to best support them.
My therapeutic style is child-centered, trauma-informed, and play-based. Using an eclectic approach to therapy allows me to be creative and adapt interventions to fit the needs of each individual client. My passion for play therapy, and the gains I have witnessed in my clients has led me to work towards obtaining my Registered Play Therapist certification.
Prior to joining Tides Wellness, I worked as an elementary school social worker. Navigating the education system and finding ways to advocate for social emotional support in the school setting can be challenging, but with years of experience on the inside, I am here to help with that. Every person your child interacts with can have an impact on them and my goal is to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to create the best opportunities for your child’s support and growth.
I am also comfortable working with high risk behaviors and have experience in high acuity settings working with both teens and adults. I feel grateful for the opportunity to support my clients as they move through extremely difficult life experiences and for their trust in me supporting them through often scary and uncertain times.
Through our work together, it is my goal for my clients to gain increased clarity and a sense of confidence in their ability to create positive change. Regardless of what brought you to this space today, it took courage. I look forward to working together to move you and your family on a path towards healing.
