Melissa Brody LMFT

I’m passionate about helping trauma survivors, adolescents and young adults struggling with their identity, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions. I help those who want to feel more secure in their identity, learn coping skills, and develop healthier more fulfilling relationships with others.

Utilizing a collaborative approach, we will explore how to discover a life worth living by identifying your values and understanding how the brain impacts thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through mindfulness and other evidence based strategies, I teach how to develop self-compassion and tolerate difficult emotions.

In our work together, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental environment that supports yet challenges you. We will explore how family dynamics, your thought patterns and belief systems have impacted your well-being. My aim for all of my clients is to instill hope and promote healing through practicing self-acceptance and using humor when appropriate.

I believe that based on our family history and the culture we live in, we’re all doing the best we can with the knowledge that we have. I’m EMDR trained and can help you work through past or current trauma. We can all benefit from a safe space to increase our self-awareness and learn tools to navigate life’s challenges. I also offer in-home/walking therapy.
