Rachel Kiner LMFT
Hello, I’m Rachel Kiner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe our quality of life is determined by the health of our relationships. I specialize in helping couples and families to overcome relational disconnection, thereby allowing them to be more open and responsive with each other. In therapy, I believe in the importance of building connections, resilience and hope with every client or family system. I help couples connect and feel satisfied in their relationships, and I assist children to feel connected and secure in their relationships so they may grow to their fullest potential.
My goal as a therapist is to work collaboratively with my clients to enhance quality of life. I believe that all people were created with the need to know and be known by others. I utilize the highly effective methods of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I have consistently experienced success with these techniques in helping clients to recognize and break free from negative thought and interaction patterns, strengthen relationships, and to live a life of greater meaning and success.
In addition to working with couples and families, I have experience treating individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults, who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem. I also specialize in the areas of parenting, co-parenting, divorce, and childhood behavioral and emotional distress. I’ve worked in many different settings, including inpatient hospitals, in-home services, residential facilities, and outpatient clinics. I have also had the privilege to work with our military service members and their families, here and abroad. Because of this unique role, I hold secret level clearance.
Simply put, I love my work. I would say my favorite aspect is creating connections. I truly enjoy getting to know the children and families I work with and consider it an honor to walk alongside you. Personally, I am equally passionate about being a wife and mother of two young children. Through these life experiences, I have gained an understanding of the joys and struggles that accompany marriage and parenthood.
