Rachel Wedemire LPCC

Welcome!

My Name is Rachel Wedemire, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I believe people have the innate ability to make change towards growth and healing when given the freedom to be themselves. Creating a trusting relationship is key to unlocking the freedom within us to be who we truly are. Within the therapeutic  relationship, my priority is to help my clients feel seen, heard and understood.

I am passionate about working with children, teens and families. I utilize play and other expressive approaches such as art, movement, and sand tray to help my clients engage. When we are in a state of playfulness, we are more able to connect and be receptive to new learning. My job is to find unique ways to connect with clients and meet them where they are to promote overall health and wellbeing.

Although I specialize in treating children, teens and their families, I also work with adults. I have experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, aggression, developmental delays, impulse control, ADHD, grief/loss, self esteem, divorce, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention and adjustment issues. I use an integrative approach to therapy which is tailored to the needs of my clients that include client centered, trauma informed care, attachment perspectives, CBT, mindfulness, Theraplay and Interpersonal Neurobiology.

My goal as your therapist is to help you find healthy ways to express and communicate your feelings while also discovering new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you. No matter what has brought you here, I am excited and honored to take on this therapy journey with you.
